At RentalCarDesk, we aim to make every booking smooth, transparent, and hassle-free. Because we work as an independent car rental assistance platform, all cancellations, changes, and refunds are subject to the policies of the respective car rental vendor (e.g., Avis, Hertz, Enterprise, Budget, etc.). This page outlines how cancellations and refunds are handled when bookings are supported through RentalCarDesk.
1. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation rules vary by rental supplier. As a general guideline:
- Free cancellation may be available if the reservation is canceled within the vendor’s allowed time window (commonly 24–48 hours before pickup).
- Late cancellations or same-day cancellations may incur fees determined by the rental company.
- No-show reservations may not qualify for refunds.
- Prepaid reservations may follow stricter cancellation rules.
RentalCarDesk will assist you in processing a cancellation request, but we do not have authority to override vendor policies.
2. Refund Policy
Refund eligibility depends entirely on the terms issued by the rental company at the time of booking. Once the supplier approves the refund, RentalCarDesk processes it back to your original form of payment.
- Refunds are issued only after approval from the rental vendor.
- Processing time may range from 5–15 business days, depending on the issuing bank.
- Service fees or support charges, where applicable, may be non-refundable.
- If a booking is non-refundable per vendor terms, we cannot override this.
3. Modification / Extension Requests
If you wish to change your rental dates, location, or car category:
- Changes may result in price differences according to vendor availability.
- Rental extensions are charged at rates set by the rental provider.
- Some modifications may invalidate the original rate or discount.
4. No-Show & Early Return Policy
- If you do not pick up the vehicle at the scheduled time, the reservation may be considered a no-show.
- No-show bookings may not qualify for refunds.
- Returning the car earlier than the scheduled date usually does not result in partial refunds.
5. Vendor-Specific Policies
Major car rental brands (Avis, Enterprise, Hertz, Budget, etc.) each maintain separate cancellation and refund rules. Our agents will guide you based on your specific reservation, but the final decision always lies with the rental provider.
